Drunk JCB driver vandalised toll plaza when asked to pay toll fee
Lucknow/Hapur, June 11: The JCB driver, accused of vandalising the toll plaza with a bulldozer at Chhajarsi Toll Plaza on National Highway 9 in Hapur, has been arrested by the Garhmukteshwar police and forwarded to jail. The police have registered a case against the accused under serious sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
It is to be noted that the accused’s JCB also rammed into a car and two motorcycles while he was trying to escape following the incident, causing injuries to three persons.
According to the police, the accused was in an intoxicated state at the time of the incident. Meanwhile, a case has been registered and the police have started investigating the matter.
The police said that the accused arrived with a bulldozer at the Chhajarsi Toll Plaza in Hapur on Tuesday morning. However, when the toll worker requested the toll fee, the driver responded rudely and in a fit of anger began vandalizing the toll plaza, causing panic among the workers, who quickly moved away.
The driver allegedly struck cabins 15 and 16 repeatedly, causing significant damage, and then fled the scene. Subsequently, upon receiving the information, the police arrived and began investigating the incident.
Hapur SP Abhishek Verma stated that the accused driver, Dheeraj, who vandalized the toll plaza, has been arrested. Based on a complaint from the JCB owner, a case has been registered against Dheeraj under serious charges. Additionally, the JCB has also been seized.
