Varanasi: A two-day ‘Sthapatya Shilp Samagam’ (architects convention) will be held in Varanasi on September 9 and 10 to discuss the challenges in the development works of the heritage cities of the state. The event is being organized by the Uttar Pradesh Architect Association and coordinated by the Varanasi Architect Association.
The spokesperson of the event, Rohit Gupta said that the architects from all over UP will participate in the event. A preparatory meeting was held in this regard on Saturday at the central office of the Varanasi Architects Association in Teliabagh area. The office bearers, representatives and architects of various districts of the eastern UP took part in the in the meeting.
Gupta said that the convention will be held at the Hotel Taj Gangage in Nadesar area. There will be a discussion about the challenges faced by the current development works in the old cities of UP, which are considered the heritage of the country. The participants will discuss how to deal with them and carry out the development work in a better and smooth manner. Prof. Ajay Khare and Prof. Rachna Khare from Bhoplal and Ravi Kumar Gupta from Jaipur will be the main speakers in the meeting.
He said that an exhibition of buildings materials will also be organized on the occasion. During the meeting, it was also suggested that the exhibition should also display Indian architecture for its promotion. Besides, a directory containing photographs of the members of the association should be prepared so that every architect has complete information about the concerned matters.
