Lok Adalats in UP are playing a positive role in resolving matrimonial disputes

UP govt ensures speedy disposal of pending cases in Lok Adalats

Lucknow, September 8: In addition to enhancing law and order in Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi government’s efforts to streamline public access to the judicial process are bearing fruit. In this sequence, Lok Adalats in Uttar Pradesh are also paving the way for the speedy disposal of pending cases by getting the public out of the clutches of complex legal procedures.

This initiative of simplification in the complex judicial process is paying off, and the report of the UP State Legal Services Authority has also confirmed this fact.

According to the report, in the years 2022-23 and 2023-24, a total of six phases of Lok Adalats have been conducted in the state, resulting in the resolution of a record 3.30 crore cases. Lok Adalats in Uttar Pradesh have also achieved extensive success in resolving marital, family, and bank recovery cases.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh is setting an example for other states in the country by simplifying complex legal processes and providing speedy resolutions through Lok Adalats.

Increased pace in settlement of marital and family disputes

At the same time, special Lok Adalats are also set up for separate disposal of cases related to marital and family disputes. Additionally, Help Desks have been established in civil courts across the state.

According to the report, a total of 635 cases related to family and marital disputes were resolved in the Lok Adalat held on March 12, 2022. In this way, a total of 5632 cases have been successfully resolved from May 2022 to May 2023.

Positive role in the disposal of bank recovery cases

The report further states that a special Lok Adalat session was organized on March 17 and 18 this year, on the advice of the Patron-in-Chief and Executive Chairperson of the UP State Legal Services Authority, in view of the increasing cases of bank recovery in the state. This session was successful in resolving a total of 27,782 cases related to bank recoveries and providing swift resolutions.

The report also highlights the efforts of the state government and the judicial department in raising awareness among the people about all Lok Adalats being held in the state by actively providing information about the scheduling of these sessions and making people aware of their relevance and importance.
